Got to say I’m actually loving my new Blackberry.
At first I didn’t find it all that intuitive and held off using it while I got used to the feel. Thankfully I had my Blackberry Classic to keep me going.
I asked a few questions on here and forums and YouTube videos.
Finally got a phone I felt happy to use.
Okay so I don’t have a lot of stuff you’d all use.
The phone was fully charged at 8:30pm last night, the store radio went down the other day so thought I’d listen to the music on my phone, not much on it so put on Amazon Music on a Bluetooth to my headphones for four-five hours, used the phone to check OPPO at breaktimes (okay and randomly through the night when I should of been working on the shop floor (but it was briefly, a few seconds here and there).
At 5:29pm today I still had 47% battery on my phone.

Just make sure the screen doesnt pop out. I also was going to look at BlackBerry, the Motion specifically but I have read they are a bit behind in processing power.

It’s made by TCL in China under licence. The software inside is Blackberry.

I got mine a month or so after the screen fix was put in place.
The Motion looks good but for me it HAS to have a physical keyboard. I just can’t handle touch screens for everything. I’d go mad.
I’ve not had any issues with the processing power. It flags up if certain elements are using power or may slow the phone down.

I like my KeyONE a lot. I don’t love it. I miss the intuitiveness of the BB10 OS.

I’ve never been one for apps but trying to play music without playing a music or audio app was a ball-ache.

I’ve had the other two warriors comment on it and like it. By two warriors I mean Samsung and Apple users.

Should have bought this one. Touchscreens are a pain in the ass.

Blackberry app support was so bad it didn’t even have a music player?

I’m hoping your phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 or S8.
So you at least have an option.

Ah ok, and I’d like to see Blackberry come back and i think they have a niche with the physical keyboard.
They were good phones but they rested on their laurels too much and it bit them. I think the market is ready for another big name. I dont want an apple and I dont like Samsung’s curved glass. Thats why I have been looking else were and that’s when I saw the Motion.

I must of looked everywhere but I’m not much of a tech guy.
I downloaded VLC and it’s all good.

Apple became a cult and mobile phone providers started prioritising Apple iPhones here in the U.K.
O2 stopped doing Blackberry altogether and I had to get mine from a secondary provider (carphonewarehouse). O2 is still my provider and I pay them. I just couldn’t get one direct.

I’m used to Android where I have more app options than I know what to do with. I currently have 5 different music apps installed.

The Blackberry KEYone or KeyONE is an Android phone, so I have full access to Android apps.

Yup, I was just talking about how you now have access to more apps than you know what to do with compared to BBs selection.

Hardly. The OS is pure TCL, look closely at the system apps like the diagnostics one. What you really get is just the Hub+ suite without a subscription fee.

Still waiting to get my Priv repaired, using this Nexus 5. Okay phone, but really hate the keyboard, and its age is showing a bit (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth issues, HORRIBLE battery).
Thought about getting a open-box KEYone to tide me over until next month, but I’m not entirely sold on the idea of giving BlackBerry more licensing money after what they did with the Priv and DTEKs. Also considering either the Nokia 6 or Essential PH-1, found deals on those, but doesn’t really solve my keyboard issue.

That “keyboard” is a bit of a sham though, it’s just sticks poking on the screen. The swipe to complete, scrolling and cursor control are all missing.

That’s what their marketing said in the very beginning: BlackBerry software, partnered hardware. They’ve also changed their tone on things quite a few times, like that “hardware root of trust” thing, first they said they inject chips (until I managed to swap a non-standard RAM chip in mine), then later said it was a serial number in parts.
Quite honestly judging by the Marshmallow software from BlackBerry I don’t really think they learned much from those, they just wanted to throw something together and sell the idea to partners quick and dirty.

What ever they did do though seems to work.
Would I continue to use my Classic if there was the support, you bet ya’.
But I’m really getting on with my KEYone.

I love my Blackberry phone’s that I’ve had, but giving that even the Priv was abandoned I find it hard to go back? So for me I got me a Motorola Z Force 2 and I will be getting the slider Keyboard for it, but saying that I do and would go back to Blackberry if I knew future phones will or would have the lastest OS? This is why I went with Motorola, because they have some of the best in the business when it comes to updates and with the Moto mods , well it’s a win ... win.

That’s a new battery of course. My second hand (2017) Nexus mobile loses battery at about 1% every minute or two if I’m browsing somewhere like this august site.

Update:
You can still find
Nexus 6P deals
, but it’s the last-ever Nexus phone, as the
Google Pixel
and
Google Pixel XL
debuted in 2016.
The 6p was released in fall 2015. The article is dated 2017 because they updated it to reference the release of the Pixel 2 in November 2017. Your phone burns battery because it is over 2 years old.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a Motorola or really looked at anything beyond the old Motorola RAZR V3 over ten years ago. They don’t really have a presence over here.

Blackberry actually supports Android apps. I doubt if they all work, but the support is there and a good chuck of them would.
And a “good chuck” in terms of Android apps still means a shitton.
